The Certificate in Practice Management (Health) is an NZQA approved 50 credit Level 4qualification. Students complete four 10-credit papers from the NZIM Certificate in Management, as well as a specialist course Introduction to Management of Health Practices.
It is designed for people new to the role, or who new to tertiary study. It introduces management and human resource practices, accounting and business computing, as well as the specific processes of managing a health practice. Assessment will relate to the job and the issues encountered on a day to day basis.
The Diploma in Practice Management (Health) is an NZQA approved 140 credit Level 5qualification. Students complete six 20-credit papers from the NZ Diploma in Business, as well as a specialist course Management of Health Practices.
It provides a more in depth examination of the processes of managing businesses, with a focus on human relations, financial and communications strategies, knowledge of legal requirements and other compliance issues, and an understanding of health policy and processes. It is designed to equip you with the skills necessary to manage a medium to large health practice.

Students may also complete the required NZ Diploma in Business papers through other providers if they prefer, however the specialist paper is ONLY available from SBG at this stage.
