The role and purpose of NZIM at the national level is quite different from the role and purpose of NZIM at the regional level.
National office as the name suggests deals with national matters, sometimes by simply coordinating regional activities such as national courses and programmes and quality control, professional qualifications and research. National office is not head office because each regional society has its own governance, management structure and autonomy.
There are however many national activities undertaken in the name of the Institute by national office which are stand alone. Because the team at national office is small we often need assistance with representation duties. We know there are members of the Institute who have the interest, time and experience to help with these representation duties and we would like you to make contact. Many of the assignments are in Wellington but quite a number are in other centres. Some are paid by a third party i.e. NZQA, most are not.
To give you a feel for what I am talking about there are tasks associated with:-
If you feel any of these tasks are of interest please contact Victoria Purdie on (04) 473 0470 to explore the opportunities.
