Many NZIM qualifications are offered by approved secondary and tertiary providers. These providers offer the programmes independently under an agreement with NZIM. They need to be accredited separately to offer the programmes and can receive government funding and student fees and allowances.

If you want to become a provider of NZIM qualifications you need to
In return NZIM agrees to resource and support the qualification and your teaching and assessment processes, maintain an academic record, process applications for credit transfer, and provide students with results and certificates.
While all agreements have many common elements they all have requirements that are individual to the qualification. All agreements have been approved by NZQA.

Your agreement with NZIM does not enable you to access EFTS funds or have the qualification listed on your NZQA web page. You need to separately gain accreditation to provide the programme.
For schools providing the CIM or CSBM that accreditation is granted based on the list of providers.
For tertiary providers of our certificates and diplomas application needs to be made separately to your approval and accreditation body. Where the qualification uses components from unit standards, the NZ Diploma in Business or other approved qualifications, the provider needs to be accredited to teach those other qualifications. Your agreement with NZIM should be sufficient to gain accreditation, as it is given only after you have met other accreditation requirements. However NZIM will write a letter to support your application if you wish.
At the beginning of each year NZIM sends all providers a provider information form for each of the qualifications they are offering that year. These forms ensure that our files and databases are up-to-date, and that any mail-outs we make go to the right people. Please return the forms by 30 April.

All qualifications are described in the NZIM Ascent of Management booklet. Free copies of this booklet are available to providers and students.
NZIM also provides booklets, leaflets, posters and folders to describe and promote our certificate programmes, and a leaflet that can be used by providers to promote the Diploma in Tourism Management and the Diploma in Travel Management.
For providers of the Small Business Entrepreneurs programme NZIM has developed a pack of the resources needed to support the programme.
Teacher guides and student workbooks for some of the papers of the Certificate in Management and the Certificate in Small Business Management can be purchased from NZIM.

NZIM has a national moderator and assessment advisor, Pam Mundell, mundell@ihug.co.nz.
Moderation for the CertMgt and CSBM will be undertaken at least every three years, and whenever a new or changed assessment is developed. NZIM require pre-assessment moderation for any new papers that providers are delivering, and recommend pre-assesment moderation for any assessments that have been significantly changed. Following is a link to further details on NZIM Moderation.
Moderation of the NZDipBus papers is underatken by NZQA, and providers of the NZIM DipMgt are required to assure NZIM that they are part of this process. Following is a link to NZQA moderation requirements regarding the NZDipBus.
All registered providers agree to report student results to NZIM, and following is a link to more detailed forms and other information on reporting results http://www.nzim.co.nz/Site/providers/Provider_forms.aspx. These results may be reported at any time either using the format supplied by NZIM for the qualification or on your own form. All results should include the name of the provider, each student's full name and address, the student's NZQA NSN number where available, paper numbers and the grade. NZIM has agreed to passing grades of A+, A, B+, B and C. Where the students have been granted a paper through credit or recognition of competence, the grade will be recorded as 'Y'. Fail grade is 'D'. Fails will not be recorded on student records, but will be recorded for statistical purposes.
Apart from the Small Business Entrepreneurs Certificate the registration of each student paper will cost $30 (inc GST). Following is the link to more detailed fee information http://www.nzim.co.nz/Site/providers/Course_Fees.aspx. You may include a cheque for that amount with your results sheet, or we will invoice you. Results may be sent electronically to Anne Marie Nicholls at nziminc@nzim.co.nz .
When results are recorded the student receives in the mail a Statement of Achievement recording the papers passed. Where students have completed the qualification they receive a certificate and a record of the qualification results in the mail.
Where requested results may be sent to the institution for distribution.
For student registration forms check under the specific qualification here.
Providers receive periodic newsletters that give up-to-date information about new and existing courses, new papers, visits, and other matters of interest. Regional co-ordinators in Auckland and the Bay of Plenty and the National Co-ordinator in Wellington are available at any time to give advice or where necessary to visit you. Each year different areas of the country are visited, and NZIM also provides in-service courses.
For any issue relating to the programmes or your role as providers contact your regional co-ordinator, or Diana Garrett at diana_garrett@nzim.co.nz.
